Although I appreciate those who engage in public service, I prefer a world where a private sector job is more coveted than a government job.https://twitter.com/maggieNYT/status/962099816070307841 …
To quote someone else, Did anyone say it means that?

Yes: I said I suspect it means that. But right now I'm having trouble following all the indefinite pronoun references throughout this thread, so I'm honestly getting lost.

Don’t think the NYT tweet suggested anything of the sort fwiw. I’m off to bed

Really? You don't think this is saying that a rational person wouldn't leave a DoJ job like this for the private sector? Doesn't "so coveted" suggest that?pic.twitter.com/3dlvYbuCkz

“After 9 months”

I'm not sure I understand why that changes things.

To end where I started, "Although I appreciate those who engage in public service, I prefer a world where a private sector job is more coveted than a government job."

Tweet unavailable

I disagree with that, as well. I know many people who leave the private sector to serve in a government job out of a sense of patriotic duty. They would rather not, but feel it's something they owe back to the country.
