Travel ban latest, although I thought the ban expires on Sept 27 (it was due to go into effect 72 hours after SCOTUS decision on June 26)https://twitter.com/mattzap/status/908080247626768384 …

I asked Justice/DHS. They say they're interpreting clock as beginning moment court ruled June 26, & see deadline as Sept. 24.

That would seem to be at odds with the White House memo on the subject:https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2017/06/14/presidential-memorandum-secretary-state-attorney-general-secretary …

I see your point. It's why I asked govt to clarify. They see difference between when ban is actually implemented, & when clock has to start

Maybe it's b/c Trump memo said effective date was delayed until injunctions lifted? Or maybe b/c SCOTUS gave non-subtle hints to get moving?pic.twitter.com/PSj5g3D7IH

There's argument to be made, of course, that reviews should be done/ clocks should have already run, given how long this has been going on

Yes -- and of course that's one of the issues the supreme court will consider even tho they let it go into effect, which is also weird
