Isn't it quite common to to plead to something you didn't do, rather than face prosecution for something very serious that you may have done? I thought that was good strategy (?)

It happens all the time - But, I thought Cohen offered testimony as a factual basis for the offense to which he pleaded guilty

I think (?) Jarrett is saying that what Cohen did wasn't actually a crime, even if he and prosecutors characterized it that way. Like if I pled guilty to a campaign finance violation for picking my nose.
