      If justices had fixed 18 year terms, as many have proposed, #SCOTUS would have had conservative majority for all but two of past 35 years (often well to right of Court we actually had).

          But if we don’t know what the popular vote would’ve been with no electoral college, we also don’t know who presidents would’ve been with no SCOTUS-as-electoral-issue

          If it’s exact same for every election, and term-limited, then it’s no longer an issue. Or it’s an issue for everyone equally, so it has less influence on any particular election.
