Think there's anything to the fact that they're waiting so long with Janus? If it was the obvious loss for the unions, wouldn't it have come out already? That was straightforward and clear. With delay, maybe it's not what we expect?
-
Maybe, here's the argument for a June surprise but don't bet on it: http://www.dorfonlaw.org/2018/04/will-justice-gorsuch-give-us-june.html …
-
I sure hope so, but it would shock me! I just don't understand the delay given how seemingly obvious the outcome has been.
-
I wouldn't rule out some major, time-consuming revisions of the dissenting opinion(s) as a last ditch effort to swing the 5th vote (be it Roberts or Kennedy).
-
Yeah, that's probably very likely. Or incorporating all the things Roberts said last week about stare decisis prominently into the dissent.
-
Or it could be Roberts himself, writing a last-second change of heart much like he did in the ACA mandate case.

Ahh maybe they are trying to make the last day really light? What motivation would they have to do that (justice retirement
)?Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

What prevents them from reading more rulings today? I guess my question is, are they showboating or are there legitimate reasons for them not to get them all or almost all done today?
