As Chesa Boudin celebrates the clemency granted to his father, David Gilbert, by disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo, we remind him his father’s victims had families & communities that loved them. Here is the 1981 NY Times article on their funerals.https://www.nytimes.com/1981/10/25/nyregion/thousands-attend-victims-funeral.html …

The “loved ones” that Boudin tweeted about had names. Sgt. Edward O’Grady, Officer Waverly Brown, and Peter Paige. They were all fathers. After Oct 20, 1981, their kids never got to hug their dads again. They never got to laugh with them again. They didn’t get to say goodbye.pic.twitter.com/Q1RznXglix

My statement & letter to @GovKathyHochul in response to David Gilbert’s commutation. @chesaboudin should come to Rockland County & meet with law enforcement & the victims families to get a better understanding of what happened. 9 children grew up fatherless because of his dad.pic.twitter.com/4BKe1U7yxX
