    For his oath, used a book of Hebrew scripture once owned by Rabbi Jacob Rothschild, who led Atlanta’s historic synagogue The Temple from 1946-1973. The book is on loan from Rabbi Rothschild's family. The rabbi was a civil rights activist and ally of MLK.

    On October 12, 1958, The Temple in Atlanta was bombed by white supremacists for their support of the Civil Rights movement. No one was ever convicted. On January 20, 2021, a Black pastor & a Jewish man were sworn in to represent Georgians in the US Senate. Progress is possible.
