I’ve made this point repeatedly over the years, but cops are NOT more law abiding than the general population. They commit domestic violence at 2-4x the rate of average person. There’s no justification for them being armed & empowered to act as jury & executioner in the streets.

Folks arguing that Black people must comply with police in every circumstance or be killed are the same ones saying mask mandates are a tyrannical overreach of gov’t that entitles them to throw tantrums in public & storm the capitals with guns.

Men get forgiveness and excuses for their behavior...and they also get praised when they apologize. Women don’t even get believed or listened to.

NARRATOR: The book is about young people overcoming alienation. "How to Start Revolution" refers to the fact that the white supremacist patriarchy will be overthrown when we all insist on our right and duty to political agency. 💫

Republicans haven’t just enabled Donald Trump's erosion of our values and democracy, they've actively participated in it. We don't need a Republican National Convention to show us who they are—they've shown us every day for the last four years.

Sometimes I randomly remember 4 people died in Benghazi and the GOP had hearings upon hearings FOR YEARS. How many hearings do you have for 171,000 dead and counting?

In today— I explain some fascinating history & how the Equal Rights Amendment + 19th Amendment are inextricably intertwined. Today, two fights are left unwon— universal suffrage & ratification of the ERA.
