Feels damn good to be on the right side of history, doesn’t it?

I prefer to call it the left side. And yes, yes it does.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

-
Actually, I think it’s perfectly in context, except it’s the GOP who have a problem with not treating ppl as their skin color. White men make up ~ 30 % of the US population, so without racial and gender bias in their favor, it’s unlikely that they’d be so very over-represented

-
No one will have to worry about being over/under represented when everyone stops seeing people only by sex/skin color. Only then will we be truly equal. That was MLKs point.
-
We can do that once we’ve taken apart the real life structures that link socio-economic status with race/gender, creating groups with unequal needs and even unequal rights. Until then, ”not seeing color” means just not addressing the inequalities.
-
Going too far the other way only creates new inequalities. Look at the Harvard admissions scandal.
-
The current House is certainly not ”too far”. For example Sandra Fredman’s Discrimination Law (2011) would be a good read for you on this topic.
