Sincere Q: are there enough undecided voters left to actually appeal to? Isn't trump's batshade insanity simply geared to turning out his base? & since nutbars are still in the minority, if Dems vote, they win. None of which explains complicit Rs too afraid to speak up.

There are nonvoters who still don't know what's going on. They see news as "negative" background noise and tune it out.

and the 'both sides' doesn't qualify (or quantify) the chasm between bad-faith arguments and good-faith arguments. especially since the bad-faith argument so often leads to harm; bad-faith becomes an actual public threat.

Sometimes it means saying no, rejecting the "other" narrative entirely. Instead, journalists seem to cover this administration like it's a criminal trial, giving both sides of every little issue as if they fear improperly influencing the jury.
