If racism is "inherent in genetics," I assume that means that Scientific American will never again publish any article having to do with genetics, right?

It won't matter. SciAm used to be my favourite science magazine. But recent articles, dumbed down below the least common denominator, means that anyone serious about learning a bit of genetics won't be travelling here.

Have you ever heard about phenotype ? Phenotype is the interaction between genotype and environnement (including other people and of course culture which we consider playing a major role in humans). In other words, this is a false polemics and unfair to Wilson and many others.

Where is the evidence that Mendel, the founder of genetics was a racist? He only wrote about pea plants and nothing else. There is nothing in hist writings which any reasonable person would call racist. You are just inventing things and printing them which is not acceptable.

You picked a meaningless sentence to exemplify the piece's insight? Externalalities is another word for environment, i.e., nurture. What I learned from this op-ed: I don't need a subscription to SciAm.

Amen! It was rubbish!
