Like many other outlets, we've been using and featuring research that hasn't been peer reviewed. We try to do due diligence by checking methods, code and data, but it's hard to do, especially this quickly.

Some of the research being produced right now has flaws. But science is always iterative, and doing it at super high speed is *hard*. One paper should never be treated as definitive, but especially now, the media has a real responsibility to vet research it features.
