In the "How is the data being displayed" paragraph, I think you meant 100 to 1000 in your first step of the logarithmic axis... you can't display 0 on a log plot.
It's really hard to tell whether the pandemic has peaked by looking at charts of cases, deaths or hospitalizations, because it depends on there not being changes in data collection:https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/one-chart-isnt-going-to-tell-you-when-the-pandemic-peaked/ …

Loved the article! Just found it odd that you didn't use 0 to 10, 10 to 100, and 100 to 1,000 in the log y-axis example.
