She frightens them.

No. She doesn't frighten them. She's saying ridiculous things in order to draw attention to herself. She should focus more on governing.
-
Why is this ridiculous? Wasn't the tax rate for the wealthy 70-90% back in the 70s? Like Warren Buffet said...their lifestyles won't change by paying higher taxes. And our deficit is astronomically high, thanks to the
@GOP tax plan. -
No, it wasn't. https://taxfoundation.org/taxes-rich-1950-not-high/ … This is a distration. I've seen more and more evidence of people trying to build a certain narrative around her. We don't need anymore narratives. We need governance. This isn't it.
-
I adore you...I do...and I don't want to argue with you...but I said 70s, not 50s.https://taxfoundation.org/us-federal-individual-income-tax-rates-history-1913-2013-nominal-and-inflation-adjusted-brackets/ …
-
I hear you but the actual tax rate was much lower than that.
-
Looking at the data I just sent, it was in the 70% for high earners.
-
I did but with all the deductions the actual realized rate was much lower. Read the article I attached above. Also, 70% is lower than 90%.

The 1% can afford 70% for the damage their industries did to the environment in the course of their profit making.
-
The effective rate was never that high. I think it topped at 42% effective. That wasn't the crux of my point. It was the narrative building around AOC. It reminds me of Bernie. I don't like it.

Narrative buildling and I don't like it.

My wife worked years in the state legislature. To quote her, "It doesn't matter what they say, it's how they vote"

I'm totally baffled by this as well. Somehow AOC is so powerful and influential that her every decision from her attire to highschool dance moves must be elevated and scrutinized. Insane.
-
That video may have been an Op intended to backfire to help further a narrative surrounding her. There's nothing wrong with the video at all but the way it was presented. That's my only issue with it.
-
You give them too much credit.
-
That entirely depends on the"them" who are doing the pushing. Agree 1000% that this smells fishy.
-
Meh. Don't ascribe to malice what can be sufficiently explained by incompetence.
-
I used to. In the current timeline, time and time again stuff like this turns out to be yet another active measures op.
