Horse racing is 2nd only to rodeos regarding cruelty to animals, i.e. 110 Lbs. of human sit atop them whilst whipping & kicking them in the ribs until they run at the pace a jockey wants them to. I would rather see gladiators return to stadiums & give horses a break.

If folks truly care about welfare of horses, they will boycott Kentucky Derby which exploits them. Horses are repeatedly kicked & whipped until the finish line. Circus elephants gone, captive orcas, going. It may take decades for horse racing to fall, but it will, with support.
