Funny how this wasn't an issue until the economy shutdown and millions lost their jobs and went to be independent drivers. 
All AB5 will do is make Uber limit how many hours individual drivers can work, so they do t qualify as employees. It already happened with freelance writers, and most companies stopped hiring California writers for this reason.
Stop this propaganda. Anyone who signed up to these companies knew that they would be independent contractors (aka 1099 ) and know that they have to pay for business expenses to write off later.
