Where were the owners .. I saw many of these horses trying to flee but were locked in and could not escape. Where were the caretakers. . .they had hours to rescue these innocent animals, wild with fear. Horrible!

This fire was so fadt, there was no time. It moved over half a mile in ten minutes. The people barely saved themselves. Owners locked stalls to prevent theft. Loose horses are a danger. No good choice here, sadly.

At least if they were set free they stood a chance. I'd bet money none of you defending the owners have ever been around a horse let alone own one.

The story is acceptable, but feel it is unacceptable to post pictures. Why? Really necessary?

Everything involved is newsworthy. The reporter was only doing their job. I understand how horrible the subjects of these photos are but it’s relevant and shows the true devastation of this atrocity. I hope you understand that. No sense shaming anyone for this.

Stop blaming the owner, blame the fire!! This is devastating and I pray that if this was caused by an arsonist that they will be caught!!! This is heartbreaking and devastating for the owners of this ranch. My prayers are with all of them.

Yeah blame the fire instead of blaming the owners of not letting them free because who knew how urgent the situation was. Do you have comprehension problems or something lmao

I'm sorry idk how quick it jumped or how little time they had, if you have over 30 horses and you know a fire is 1,5,10 miles away you start fucking evacuating them before it gets that close

Girl, I've evacuated my own ranch as well as helped others... so I'm aware thank you. That's why #1.) you start in advance,OR 2.) if no time, you let them free OR 3.) how about not leaving fucking padlocks on the stalls so NO ONE without a key can help🤷‍♀️just a few thoughts

yeah these would have all been possible under CERTAIN circumstances. what if the owners don’t live near the ranch? had prioritize making sure their families were safe? this is the problem with people today. everyone’s so quick to judge without knowing the full story.

These photos are awful! Totally unnecessary. Death, no matter human or animal should be respected. Flashing pictures of animals that died horrifically is exploitation plain and simple. These should not be shared!

It’s relevant news and I applaud this reporter for being able to stomach covering such a horrific event. While the subject is not pretty they are only doing their job and YOU should respect that.
