On agent based models' use in history and #philosophy of science. Perhaps predictably I wasn't persuaded by attack on Zollman effect (see replies) but did find claim about what models can/'t do interesting. Here like: `leave how-possibly modelling alone!'

Zollman effect shows up in models of difficult inquiry, and he notes response is to make scientists more dogmatic. They claim to show it's not robust even in situations of difficult inquiry, but model scientists getting better at reasoning only if they believe true theory...

... in such a way that makes them destined to reach the truth, and whatsmore their reasoning behaviour has a kind of in built dogmatism. Not clear this captures a situation of difficult inquiry, or that it is inconsistent with Zollman's initial claims. Still, check the paper out!
