Hmm, on my read it really is true per Haslanger, that, say, my bagel costs $3, I am black in modern America, and women are subordinate. But her explanation for these truths is in terms of social constructions. (I bet you even agree with that first one!) Am I missing your point?

Ah I see. I take that to be a warning about what sort of observations are going to be informative. (Somebody who thinks women are socialised to like pink and somebody who thinks that Nature selected for women who like pink can't settle their dispute by seeing if women like pink).
