      I once saw a senior analytic philosopher give a talk wherein they presented as a new discovery: geometry can be used to model perspective in paintings! Another argued that one can give priors on “the world is designed” and “God exists” and Bayes your way to resolving theology.

      I'm intensely curious how this guy(?) though perspective had turned up in the paintings beforehand Did he think Caravaggio was just eyeballing it?
