any hot takes on this study in the quant social science blog sphere yet? i feel like differences between the social-material composition of Black 1%rs' capital and the social-material composition of White 1%rs capital plausibly exist and play a role here
Not that I've seen. I'd seen this kinda phenomena discussed before in white nationalist blogosphere. They'd said reversion to cognitive mean; but gender gap undercuts that. Guess the hypothesis discussed therein (over-policing of black men) is going to be everyone's first guess.

cultural aspects too - given relevant stereotypes, high SES Black men are encouraged and expected to identify with/associate with working class Black men and people in general in ways that 1) seem gender specific 2) lower the class insulation from policies targeting low SES folks
