I'm sorry fellow Britishers but the yanks are fundamentally correct about the following: even though it's a complete inversion of all decency and standards, it is actually better if you pour the milk in before adding the tea.

You're not the first to say that to me! I think in US tea is a somewhat fancier drink than in the UK, where it's much more common in both senses. So the Sophisticated folk doing this in America pride themselves on being fancy about it, whereas in the UK that's viewed as silly.
