Reread Ida B. Wells' classic `Lynch Law in America'. Her arguments often revolve around importance of the rule of law in a decent society. Actually to be clear: Anna Julia Cooper sometimes expressed solidarity with native Americans, so credit where due. But read her discussing Irish, southern Europeans and, I seem to recall but am less confident, continental Africans - and that's what I am reminded of here.
