People in #philosophy who make pronouncements about "the limits of #science" puzzle me - when did they solve the demarcation problem?

@lastpositivist Does talking re limits imply demarcation solved? I think we can know eg ethics beyond the limits without exact demarcation.

@cathyby I guess I hear people talk about methodological limits and I think it ignores the cheerfully imperialistic attitude of scientists>>

@lastpositivist Y'see, I don't see "scientific" as a honorific. I think demarcation of science has at least decided on that :)

@cathyby My guess: the only reason to care about Demarcation at all is the honorific use - otherwise, why worry about what is(n't) science?

@lastpositivist DO you say that, right now, English Lit is science? We know there is no a priori reason not, else no demarcation prob.
