Hey @YouTube we made a brief ad to promote a commentary track and our t shirts and it got removed for “deceptive practices” even though there was nothing deceptive about it. What gives? @TeamYouTube @YTCreators

They don't want content creators, they want the likes of NBC, CBS, TBS, all these over the air, and cable channels that are stinking of homes that still have it.

The reason it's dying is due to people jumping ship to digital platforms. Hell stuff like HULU has ads unless you pay for the super-duper premium version. There will always be commercials, unless you are willing to pay out the nose.
