Big ACA enrollment numbers are remarkable given the political noise, uncertainty about the future of the law, and lack of public attention.https://twitter.com/jrovner/status/809850764881432576 …

If the current ACA open enrollment period is successful and enrollment grows, it means the insurance market is not collapsing.

I think there's an old tweet from you before OE about how growth this year would determine he health of the ACA. Can you RT?

A successful ACA open enrollment for 2017 is key to stabilizing premiums and maintaining an attractive market for insurers.

Only if growth is mostly healthy people. If it's people try to get one last shot at free health care, it's bad news

I would argue that enrollment growth almost guarantees that the risk pool is improving.

Normally, maybe. But, since early Nov eligible people knew that this might be last chance to get subsidized care.

Maybe. But I suspect people with health conditions were already enrolled, so increased participation improves risk.
