Michele Hanisee, President of the Ass. of Deputy DAs in Los Angeles on the CA’s death penalty: “Of the 24 or so who are presently eligible for execution, half of them are white men. So let’s execute them.” Hard to know where to start with that quote. SMH. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/09/us/california-death-penalty.html?searchResultPosition=6 …

Unprofessional. Ms. Hanisee is currently seeking death penalty against Alexander Hernandez, San Fernando serial killer who (if I can trust Google images) appears to be non-white Hispanic. In context of @NYTimes she *may* have been mocking the critics. Poor choice, but quotable.pic.twitter.com/cw2sE6KHsv

Oh, I see. So it’s okay to say that because she is also trying to kill a brown man?

If you execute the whites then only blacks and browns will be on death row and that would be racist

She's the public face of the association of deputy DAs in LA. Problematic.

Ass'n of Deputy DAs in LA might want to look for a new president if the argument is "let's kill people based on race." Also, if 50 percent of the 24 eligible are white, then 50 percent are not, wildly out of proportion to their % of the pop. So still traditionally racist anyway.
