** The high number of cases are, in part, due to a backlog of about 2,000 test results received from one lab who just submitted lab results from July 2-5 today.pic.twitter.com/mP1H5cAN2q

The backlog is simply just an excuse you use to allow the health dept to permit itself to not care about the infection. Wether it was 3 days of backlog or today alone they are NEW CASES! The handling of this has been pathetic

Please be more precise with your words. A “backlog of about 2,000 test results.” Are these test results (both positive and negative) or 2,000 positive results? Also, please publish the postivity rate in your topline numbers.

To put in perspective, here’s NY’s numbers today: “56,736 tests were performed yesterday. 588 tests came back positive (1.04% of total). Total hospitalizations are at 836.” NYS population is only 1.9 times of LA county, testing rate is 4 times (80k capacity vs. 20k average here)

Why are results taking so long? I guess you've given up on contact tracing and isolating. Don't worry, the numbers should be down the rest of the week since you closed 1/2 of the testing capacity at Dodger for 3 days...

A backlog of cases are still new cases. Shut it down unless you want to be Florida.
