  1. I'm going to call this Redmond's Law: There's nothing so bad in computing that Microsoft hasn't already tried it.

  2. On a scale of 1 to ω, how bad would it be to name a class "ControllersController"?

  3. One problem with Objective-C is that it encourages programmers to try to make their singletons generic. (Yes, you heard me correctly!)

  4. I guess refunds work the same way as non-MAS apps w/o online license check. But Apple could invalidate the receipt when you run App Store.

  5. What happens after you're refunded for a MAS app? The app still seems to work.

  6. I don't file Radars, I write blog posts. Apple can follow my RSS feed. 😝

  7. New blog post, "Working without a nib, Part 8: The nib awakens":

  8. I need to eat breakfast, but there's a cat sleeping on my leg.

  9. <NSNetServiceBrowserDelegate,NSNetServiceDelegate,NSPopoverDelegate,NSTableViewDataSource,NSTableViewDelegate,NSTextFieldDelegate,NSWindowD…

  10. RIP Apple Car. Jony we hardly knew ye!

  11. Wow, high of 80 today? Last gasp of summer.

  12. "We don’t think the consumer particularly likes cash." Tim Cook explains why Apple's products are so expensive.

  13. Tim Cook: "We would like to be a catalyst for taking cash out of the system." Is this why they've hoarded $230 billion?

  14. If Apple killed the Mac, they wouldn't make Xcode for iOS, with no file system, or Windows, which would be humiliating. They'd do Xcloud.

  15. I think most people never see this because they use NSWindowController and a nib, in which case releasedWhenClosed is ignored.

  16. Had to set NSWindow releasedWhenClosed to NO to stop the crash. I would have thought releasedWhenClosed is a NOP in ARC. 😕

  17. Oh the irony, getting a crash in -[NSAutoreleasePool drain] in an ARC app.

  18. Argh, another ARC crash. I thought the point of ARC was to prevent this! 😡

  19. warning: undeclared selector 'undo:' WTF?
