hearthstone Esports needs improvement for sure on many levels. It's the only one i can stand watching.
A much more constructive post about competitive hearthstone than a lot of the memes i see flying around on twitter. I disagree very much with grandmasters being a path to stability. If you’re relegated out of grandmaster, the drop from gm to square one is too high.

Being in GM does give you stability while you’re in it though no? Once you are out you are fucked 100%

I agree with most everything in that post but I think that the one class format is actually good for mid-tier players. I was able to play cups in Asia for the first time because of the Specialist format.

Remember when the world championship would have 100,000+ viewers (before twitch drops) - Excluding everybody who isn't a GM from qualifying is such a mistake by Blizzard, imo competitive hearthstone is hanging by a thread.

I think the elephant in the room is that the viewership for HS almost halved compared with previous years, revenue is down 37% year over year, but everyone wants the same opportunities, and the same prize pools like in the past. Nobody seems to address that in their critics.

There are two main problems: #1. not enough prize money incentive for non-GMs #2. no real ability for an unknown/semi-pro to break in

I just wanna point out that if this current system was in place last year, our current world champ and superstar wouldn’t be who he is.
