At what point making flashcards and reviewing them stops being useful for you and becomes more of an annoying and overwhelming task? Do you then leave it or keep going anyway?

I never make flashcards for anything other than learning a new script. I tried it with Japanese in 2010 but it was just a frustrating experience and a waste of time. It was great to learn Kanji, though.
