Misconception: Just by listening and reading you'll never learn low frequency vocab.
Reality: The vocab in any TV show, book, etc is VERY FAR from the average in the language, because they are about SPECIFIC topics/situations, by SPECIFIC authors. You'll get plenty of new words.
