Because language is complex and arbitrary, learning from mistakes doesn't work. The feedback we get when we make a mistake is simply too rare and imprecise to teach us anything useful. We need to focus on getting input.

I agree. Hearing or reading something creates brain connections. Learning that something is wrong doesn't just magically erase those brain connections, but probably rather reinforces them.
