In spite of what some argue, good and clear pronunciation is important. It will make communication easier, and put less burden on your partner, allowing you to have longer conversations and make more friends in the language.

Definitely. Nobody should be mocked or diminished for their accent. That doesn't take away from our responsibility to get language learners to achieve good results.
