Reading about the effort to recall @chesaboudin because, despite falling crime rates, people *feel* less safe in San Francisco.
It makes me wonder how much of that fear is attributable to how media cover crime.
Would love to do a systematic study on this.https://www.sfexaminer.com/news/chesa-boudin-responds-to-critics-in-first-state-of-justice-address/ …

Thank you Carissa. As you know better than anyone, based on your experience living in North Carolina, crime is way down in San Francisco. Those numbers are definitely NOT being doctored by my office.

If you are going to run a parody account making fun of a prosecutor, you might want to better educate yourself about what prosecutors actually do. For example, prosecutors aren't responsible for collecting and reporting crime data.

And if you want to opine on San Francisco, you might want to come visit. You might learn that many many man crimes go unreported because everyone in the city knows they will lead to no consequence.

Shop in our barren Walgreens. See the bike chop shops operating openly on major roadways. Walk down the street get harassed and threatened with bodily harm. See the open drug bazaar in the Tenderloin. Crime is down? Only when viewed from afar in an ivory tower.

You might want to better educate yourself on how I hide behind those semantics, while in reality pleaing down repeat drug dealers to misdemeanor ‘acting as an accessory’ so they can be released, or how I will plea hot prowl burglaries down to misdemeanor trespassing, and release.

The level of arrogance of your original tweet just boggles the mind. Those stupid little people who just FEEL unsafe, how pathetic, what can we do to change their perception of reality so it conforms to our political objectives?

I have news for you: San Francisco is one of the wealthiest and most educated cities in the country... if the people widely say they ‘feel’ less safe, maybe that’s because they actually ARE less safe, not because they’re idiots being duped by some media conspiracy.
