I don't get why giving females 2 chances to qualify is bad if the goal is to have more women in the scene
My best guess is they think that more female players will play if they split category and they also want gender equality for both side

Well at least they are trying instead of theorycrafting, its only the 2nd year, maybe they will change it back next year if it doesnt work
