We highly encourage minoritized and marginalized writers––writers with disabilities, writers of colors, LGTBQ+ writers, neurodiverse writers, among others––to send pitches. We also encourage newer writers and nonacademic writers to pitch.

You're not limited to just those questions! Personal essays that explore these topics are welcome, as are those that look at disability and gender in history or policy. Just make sure your idea engages the three points of gender, disability, and science.

Questions to consider: * How does gender identity or presentation affect one’s experience w/disability? * Are gender differences reflected in the development & use of assistive technologies? * How do scientists who have disabilities navigate multiple types of marginalization?

“The inappropriate depth to which law enforcement is integrated into the rabid anti-choice movement is extremely unsettling[;] that’s why the new facial recognition app from the Australian start up Clearview AI has such terrifying potential.” —

I wrote about my experience as clinic escort & the comfortable relationship police have w/ pro-choice clinic protesters. Giving facial recognition technology to the police & public will allow protesters to engage in more targeted violence against clinic staff, patients& escorts
