Scuse ignorance...but why does it take so long to vote and / or register to vote? Is it just the numbers people? That the people that process it are too slow? It just seems really odd

Registering to vote takes no time. I think I did it when I got my driver's license. The time it takes to vote varies for a lot of reason, such as voter suppression, or people may feel supremely passionate about an election.
