if you genuinely do not regret your transition or the effect it has had on your body, im happy for you. but what about the people who feel that they were deeply wronged? the people who do live in regret, who cant reconcile with their bodies that they feel were mutilated?

i am just having a hard time understanding why this is a major talking point for certain people, one that takes precedence over other issues related to detransition. i agree that no one should be encouraged to wallow in misery or hate their bodies after transitioning,

but as someone who feels completely traumatized and shattered by my experience transitioning, i cant help but feel insulted when im asked to censor my feelings on transition "healthcare" and identity medicine. and after speaking with people who regret their genital surgeries,

and hearing about their deep psychological pain as a result, nevermind the physical consequences and complications of these surgeries, costing thousands to mitigate but will never be truly repaired, my feelings on this matter are even stronger.

sure, it sounds nice to "fight the narrative" that detrans people regret transition or are mutilated if that makes you personally feel better, but i mean... its the general narrative for a reason. im unwilling to deny a large percentage of detrans people's experiences

because some detrans people dont view theirs that way. whats happening to people is disgustingly wrong. i will never tell someone theyve been mutilated or dictate how they describe their experience, but i will also not pretend that gross medical malpractice is not happening...

...and that this is all just a ~journey~ for everyone. regret and feelings of mutilation are realities that i am not willing to shy away from to fit someone else's experience or theory that i do not relate or agree with.

there is a difference between the way you describe individual experiences, and the way you describe the general ethics, material realities, and consequences of phenomenons and institutions. i dont know. send tweet.
