    It's important to recognize the layered challenges our immigrant communities often face due to racial discrimination & cultural differences. This motion helps ensure that's accounted for in the outreach and services to Black immigrant populations that call LA County home.

    In 2016 our Board created the LA Justice Fund Pilot Program to provide free legal counsel to immigrants facing deportation. Today, we voted to take what we learned from that pilot & create an updated, permanent program to keep helping those who call the US their home stay here.
