My heart is bursting. On the eve of my first child's birth, my dad - who's been in prison nearly my entire life - was granted clemency. He never intended harm, yet his crime devastated many families. My heart breaks for the families that can never get their loved ones back.

He never intended harm - who could have foreseen a shootout when agreeing to drive the getaway car for a bunch of armed bank robbers?

Hmm, who could ever have foreseen anyone dying when an armed mob attacked the capitol intent on killing moc and the vp? I’ll await your posts calling for life imprisonment for all involved!

Worth pointing out the only person murdered that day was an unarmed protestor at the hands of a cop, which is the sort of thing I thought you folks were extremely against.

Gee and I thought “stand your ground” was the sort of thing you all were for.

Also doesn’t apply to officers using deadly force in the line of duty

Nor does “unarmed protester” apply to a military vet storming the house chamber in the course of a violent insurrection.
