are we much better about this though i feel this is an almost ubiquitous affliction, we just have different outlets

Born of overstimulation in digital era. We are never alone with our own thoughts. It’s like what Schopenhauer said about the line between your own thinking and just recycling the thinking of the author of texts you read. Endless internal repetition of external dialogue.

Our thoughts, the underlying context of ourselves becomes neglected and abused like a red headed step child- our own thoughts take of the horror of the other and we no longer feel comfortable in our own head. Being alone w them is like having to look at a vacuous howling wet hole
