    This appears to be an aggressively homophobic, disgusting attack on Pete Buttigieg, and it is yet another reason that folks would do well to recognize how this historic candidate and his family face myriad instances of vile bigotry. We do not live in a post-homophobic society.

    When I worked in San Francisco city/county government and California politics and people would suggest this as a policy proposal (and plenty did)...I would tell them they misunderstood poverty, food insecurity, and access. That's what I'll say here too:

    I don't think people appreciate how voters can hold conflicting opinions. What's not normal is assuming that regular people think in absolutes in the way many pols & movement leaders do.
