Waleed has become a major disappointment. I used to respect his journalism but now I find he struggles to present an intelligent and cohesive argument. In his attempt to be nuanced he completely misses valid points to his argument, his work is now bizarre & directionless. 🐝

It’s a miracle this boy wasn’t hurt, being tackled by the Prime Minister, the Treasurer, the Finance Minister, the Resources Minister and the Home Affairs Minister. If only the Health Minister were there. Oh, wait …

I went through a period on the dole after the Newman Govt in Qld sacked thousands of highly employable public servants. I had to make 10 complex applications a f/n (for non-existent jobs)/got 0 help from the ‘providers’ who pocketed $5000 when I found a job #SystemRort

Great news :) That's 1 coal project down, 63 coal projects (and 138 new fossil fuel projects) to go (or: that's 2 megatonnes of planned new coal extraction capacity down, and 491 megatonnes of planned new capacity to go)
a listing of new coal projects

The #environment minister, Tanya Plibersek, has said she intends to block a #coalmine project backed by mining billionaire Clive Palmer that would have dug for the fossil fuel just 10km from Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef coastline. #auspol #ClimateCrisis theguardian.com/environment/20

This is the best news. That family has suffered for too long due to policy and political obstinance. They have a place here and now at last they can be sure of that. A good day!

Grace is an aged care worker. She has to work two jobs to pay the bills and just can’t keep up with the rising cost of living as her pay is appalling. We need changes to our workplace laws to get wages moving & to properly respect & value workers like Grace

Missing from the yelling about 6.1% is the fact that inflation is declining. Prices rose 2.1% in the March quarter, 1.8% in June. Probably less in September. Annual rates simply affected by the base effect. Inflation has peaked.

It’s long past time to bring decency and respect for the Rights of Elderly and Disabled Australians back, by ensuring the UNCRPD is fully implemented, and secretive Guardianship and Administration Agencies are subjected to genuine Independent Oversight !
