Hi -- Excellent question, and one that any reporter gives great consideration to (esp when considering how we talk about women vs men.) In this case, given that we spent so much time with her, and that I've known her for some years now (as we say) it seemed appropriate.

Point taken but: from this listener’s perspective — it doesnt feel right. Feels too familiar, esp for people who have never heard of this lawmaker before (i imagine that is almost everybody). And the gender piece is real. Anyway, thx for replying.
