thanks, Kate -- for all the godawful deaths of newspapers right now, I was cheered and uplifted by the stories of our colleagues, past and present, and how valiantly they have worked to keep our fellow Americans informed about our civic and public life.
and there's no place quite as crackling as a newspaper newsroom during a big story. Even in these tough times.
