Problem is, that unless you "steward" their social media use, because everyone has phones, by the time they hit adulthood hundreds of hours of footage of them will already be posted online of parties, crazy stunts, etc will already be available if not by them, but 3rd party.

By the time he's old enough to have a phone, he will be well-versed in the same risk analysis I use before I post anything on social media. I hope by then the rest of society will treat a person's privacy preferences like they treat food allergies today.

And yet in Denmark (any many other countries) school kids are required to use Windows 10, along with google office, with an absolute minimum of privacy requirements.

My kids are taught to use DuckDuckGo, and use Linux everywhere possible. They’re taught to use caution before posting anything online.
