This isn't as shocking as it looks. In the 1790 census, 30% of the states had about 60% of the population. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1790_Unit

If you have even the tiniest interest in math and politics... the constituents-per-Senator trend is cause for alarm. A Wyoming citizen has 65 times more voting power in the Senate than a Californian.

Considering that senators represent their states, not the people per se, why exactly is this problematic? This is what the founders wanted...for significant reasons.
