Especially given the reporting of the “land the plane” conversation on the plane.

I think this is a scam. Trump didn't like Rosenstein and then suddenly they met and I think Rosenstein agreed to help Barr with the watering down of the Mueller report In exchange for getting his pension. He saw what happened to McCabe! Crooked deal. Thoughts?
-
That would make Trump guilty of blackmail.

It wouldn't be the first time

...remember, Rosenstein is an attorney. And a smart one. His resignation is significant. No matter the 1st impression, this reference to “personal conversations” appears to be an Easter Egg, & is perhaps his attempt to ride the fence *&* deliver his version of a coup de grâce.

I'm thinking the same thing. There's more to it than meets the eye.

Rosenstein's mission failed. The plane he promised to land safely, crash-landed.

But nobody was *actually* upset about the tarmac meeting. Anybody who decried it wasn’t doing so in good faith, but the media “both sides”’d it into a story. The GOP weaponized bad-faith arguments and the media played along with their narrative.

The group most upset about the Lynch-Clinton tarmac mtg believes there was a deep state conspiracy against DJT and that he was chosen by God. Personal conversations with Rosenstein will mean nothing to them. Might even be an asset. A feather in his cap.

Surely he had to know that would raise eyebrows?

This feels like an in plain sight kind of approach to Congress, kind of like the way Trump pulled his collusion crap... except this time it's the opposite of treason.
-
Seriously, I can't figure out if it's a poke in the eye to Congress, a blackmail threat to trump, or a guy begging Congress to ask him to testify. Writing a letter like that is not a rational move if you want to slide out unnoticed.

Rosenstein is a supreme douche. He was playing both sides and not acting in the best interests of the country. This is a big problem.

This is crazy. What does Donny have on Rod. Rod, my child's role model 20 yrs ago, has let down so many. What the hell happened?
-
He, like every other Conservative, has sacrificed his honor, ethics, and sense of justice, for a partisan stacking of the courts, HUGE tax breaks for the wealthy, and a xenophobic approach to national and international policy, that helps keep white (men) folks ascendant. GROSS.
