Of course,
@senatemajldr will never allow it to come to the floor. It is essential that Dems not only keep the House (and expand it) in 2020, but retake the Senate in large numbers, and of course win the Presidency. Make it so, everyone!

I'm for PR self-determination and support all their efforts for freedom and even independence if they decide that. but a lot of folks there do not want Statehood and they seem to never support us in DC which is frustrating. We should move forward together

Until recently, Puerto Ricans voted to maintain their status as Commonwealth. Congress can't arbitrarily make them a state. In June 2018, Rep. Jenniffer González (Puerto Rixo) filed a bill that would pave the way for Puerto Rico to become a state in 2021 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statehood_movement_in_Puerto_Rico …

Can you combine it with other areas like Puerto Rico, American Samoa and the Mariana Islands?

PR should be it’s own separate state IMO. There’s also a movement to combine Guam and NMI into the state of Pacifica
